calling Egypt’s short numbers (19000)

Hi,
I need to call my bank in egypt from USA and all I have is a 19_ _ _ number. I tried 011219_ _ _ and 01120219_ _ _ and both won’t work. Is there a way to call these number internationally like adding some pre or postfix or is it not doable?

Hello,
These short numbers are meant to be called from within Egypt. If the bank you are trying to contact has a website they likely publish a contact number for calls from outside the country. Or, again if they have a website, they usually have a “Locate your branch” section. In this section regular phone numbers are generally provided.

I hope this helps. If you still can’t find their contact info I could try it – I would need the bank’s name.

One other thing – I don’t know why you tried to call these numbers the way you did. If they could be reached from outside Egypt you would dial 011 20 19???.
