    Hi

What do I dial to call my partner using an Inmarsat number on a boat off the Queensland coast of Australia. I am in Brisbane, which is the main city in Queensland. The number I was given begins with +870 then has 9 more digits.

    Thank you for your help.

    Hello,

You can dial the number as is (the initial plus sign must also be dialed and can be dialed using a cell phone device) or you can replace the plus sign with 0011 when calling from Australia. Calling a satellite number is like placing an international call with 870 being the “country code” in this case.

Make sure you know about the costs involved (calling to a satellite phone might be quite expensive).

Heads-up

Some information on these forums could be outdated - countries change their numbering plans periodically. We recommend using our top menu to double check the correct instructions for dialing to a specific country.
