   Morning all,

   First time here. Couldn't find the answer in previous posts so sorry if this is a dup.

   My mother-in-law is flying in from Sydney to NYC. She's got a stop over in LA.
   I wanted to make sure she can contact me from her Australian mobile phone as a precautionary measure.

   While in the US, would she dial a US cell phone from an Australian mobile the same way she would as if she were still in Australia?
   Would this be the correct dial for her to contact me from LA 0011-1-212-xxx-xxxx ?

   Hi Rix,

   The answer is no. Once roaming to a US network her phone will work like a US phone so she will dial your US number: 1 ??? ??? ????. To place international calls, for example to Australia she would enter: 011 61 etc.

   I hope this helps.

   That helps a lot. I thought the phone would basically connect back through to an Australian exchange and then come back through the US.
   Sure glad I didn't send her the other instructions.
