   I would like to call a person in Israel.
   I am in New York City.
   The area code that I was given is 054.
   Yet in your listing of area codes in Israel the code for Tel Aviv is (I think) 3
   Should I dial 011972054 OR 0119723?

   Hi Vyktor,

   None of the above will work. I believe the number you were given is an Israeli cellular phone. These start with digit 5 nationwide (area codes are only used when calling landlines). The zero before 54 is a so called Trunk Code used ONLY for dialing within Israel. So, if you have a 10 digit number starting with 054 dial the following: 011 972 54 ### ####.
