how do i call a mobile phone in Romania from a mobile phone in Australia?

Mobile phones in Romania have a national dialing format: 07?? ??? ???. To dial a Romanian cell from Australia drop the starting zero in the cell number and enter: 0011 40 7?? ??? ???.

i tried that but keep getting a message saying “the eletratech country direct service you have call is unavailable” is there away around that or someother way i can get through?

Sounds like there’s a problem on your end, namely you are not able to direct dial internationally. The way around this, if you can call within Australia is to use a calling card service or something similar. With this type of service you would first dial an Australian access number and then the Romanian cell. Some services that work from Australia are Rebtel https://www.rebtel.com or https://nobelcom.com
