Calling Australia from Bali

Could only make sms calls using TravelSIM card from Bali to Australia – would not allow voice calls. Does + automatically use exit country code even if country code differs from country to country, or do you need to know each country’s exit code?

Using the plus sign replaces the exit code no matter what country you are in.
