    I have this number for a Shanghai call: 7 (920) 402 0363

    I am dialing 011 86 21 7 920 402 0363…..a voice says “no route” What am I doing wrong?

    Hello,

    Are you sure this is a Chinee registered phone? To me it looks like a Russian cell number: Russia’s country code is 7 and cell phones are 10 digit in Russia and start with digit 9. See this page https://www.howtocallabroad.com/russia/

    Adding 21 (Shanghai’s area code) to the number you have results in a 13 digit number. Chinese landlines can be either 10 (in most cases) or 11 digit. So my guess is that this is a Russian cell traveling to China (along with its owner:). Try dialing: 011 7 920 and so on. Let me know if this works.
