England to Australia Complication

Hi there,

My boyfriend is in Australia at the moment but still has is UK number, I have tried calling it a couple of times and it won’t connect. Is there any way I can get through? Will an international calling card help or do I need to change some digits to call him?

Hi Emily,

If your boyfriend carries his UK mobile phone to Australia you should be able to call him without adding any extra digits to the UK cellular number: 07??? ??? ???. If dialing this triggers the message you have mentioned then most likely he either doesn’t have international roaming service activated, or his cell is not in a coverage area. In other words there isn’t much you can do.
