A change in Guinea Bissau’s numbering plan was announced on October 29, 2022. Both mobile and fixed telephone numbers in this small African country have been updated from 7 to 9 digits.
Looking at the PDF document published on ITU.int, it appears that all fixed phone numbers have been prepended digits 44, changing from a 7 digit format (3?? ????) to 9 digits: 44 3?? ????.
With cell phone numbers things look a bit more complicated: basically either digits 95, 96 or 97 were added to existing 7 digit wireless numbers, depending on the subscriber’s carrier. Check out this complete list if you know your contact’s carrier.
As usual, our page on dialing to Guinea Bissau has up to date information.
