How to call Australia from Malaysia?

May i know the correct way to dial, if I want to make a phone call to Australia from Malaysia?
the number given is +6188264????

I tried to input 00 61 88264???? ended up with some Indonesian girl picked up..
This happened when Im using IDD card..

but when using direct mobile phone, I just dial +6188264??? ?, it went through perfectly..
i wonder what I missed here..

Hello,

0011 is the exit code used to dial internationally from Australia (just like Malaysia uses 00).

The only way I can explain what happened – you either pressed 62 instead of 61, or the phone erroneously dialed 62 instead of 61 (62 is Indonesia’s country code). I don’t think this will happen again if you make sure you dial 00 61.
