    As of November 1, 2008 Mali expanded its telephone numbering plan from 7 to 8 digit numbers as follows:

    • Fixed numbers of the format 22? ????:
      • 226 ???? and 227 ???? become 2126 ???? and 2127 ???? respectively
      • all other numbers of the format 22? ???? become 202? ????
    • Fixed numbers of the format 23? ????, 24? ????, 25? ????, 26? ????, 28? ????, 29? ???? become 213? ????, 214? ????, 215? ????, 216? ????, 218? ????, 219? ????
    • Fixed numbers of the format 27? ???? become 207? ????
    • Fixed numbers of the format 42? ???? become 442? ????
    • Malitel mobile numbers of the format ??? ???? are added digit 6 and become 6??? ????
    • Orange mobile numbers of the format ??? ???? are added digit 7 and become 7??? ????
