Please Help me call Lao

Please help me call my husband in Lao. he has a cell phone that has been working fine for us in Lao and Thailand, but now I’m in Hong Kong and every thing I have tried is saying “invalid number” I have the country code as 001 and the area code as 856, but am not getting threw with any of the Champasak, 3 numbers of: 31 , 30 , 20 that are before the regular # that is 8 digits long.

For your information: 001 is the exit code or International Direct Dial code used to dial internationally from Hong Kong. The country code for Laos is 856. 20 is the code used with Laos cell phones so your call should be 001 856 20 ?? ??? ???. What is the 8 digit cell number – I can try dialing it just to see if it rings. If it does there is a problem on your end.
