You don’t actually add 40 to Danish cell numbers – the cell number you have should already be complete – 40 are the two digits most cell numbers start with. If the one you have doesn’t no problem. What you should look at: the Danish number must be 8 digit: 011 45 followed by 8 digits.

    Hello,

All you should do is add 00 before the number: 00 691…..
00 is used to dial out of Afghanistan. I see that you are in the US Army. I’m not sure what type of communications system you use – if you’re not sure it’s 00 and you are on a cell phone you can replace the two zeros with the plus sign added in front of the number: +691….

    Hello Gabriela,
The Mexican operator assistance works from Mexico. I see you are in the US, so you should try the US directory assistance (411 should be the number).

While in the UK your phone “behaves” like a UK phone so you will dial UK numbers the way locals do. For example: all UK cell numbers have this format when dialed from within the country: 07??? ??? ???.

    I hope this helps.

The number you have is either misspelled or you wrote 31 instead of 81 which is Japan’s country code. The 00 in the beginning is used from many countries to dial internationally and many people include it in the number not knowing that different countries use different international access codes (the US uses 011 as you already know). The starting zero in the Japanese number is to be dropped when dialing it from outside Japan. In conclusion you should dial: 011 81 489 78 4??? (48 is the area code of this town in the Saitama province).

    I hope this helps:)

I got the number and called it and I get the same message in both Romanian and English saying that the number is not connected, so the problem is definitely not on your end. I am certain that the same message can be heard when calling this number from inside Romania.

I see that you are in the UK so the dialing sequence is correct and the RO cell number looks right. Are you 100% certain that this number is active? If you want I can try dialing it to see if I am getting the same message (just send it over using the Contact link at the top right).

    Hello,

If the Romanian cell can not place international calls that’s most likely because this type of service is blocked or is not activated with their plan. Your friend should call the Romanian wireless provider and inquire about this.

As for the Romanian cell not receiving calls from outside Romania – that’s not possible if the phone is working. What numbers have you been dialing?

    Jester,
Not sure what’s with the plus sign in the beginning, but I would say this number looks more like a Virginia phone number: 703 436 2???. For it to be a Russian number you’d have to have 10 digits for the number itself (you have 9) and the first digit can not be zero.

    Hello Lesa,
Try contacting the International operator in your country – they usually have access to international directories. I do not know of a way to contact the operator in a certain country from outside the country. I am still researching this issue.

    Lainee,
Sorry to hear about these issues. The calls you are getting seem to come from India (country code 91). I don’t know of a way to block these calls, but it might be possible for you to ask your wireless provide to block them for you (all calls coming from India for example). Or, unless you are expecting important calls maybe you could activate the SILENT profile on your phone at night:)

Hello Evelyn. Your post is a bit confusing. Our website provides just that – country codes, area codes and dialing instructions for calling to any country. Saudi Arabia is one country, the United Arab Emirates is another country and so is Qatar. We provide information on calling all these 3 countries. See the 3 pages below:
    https://www.howtocallabroad.com/saudi-arabia/
    https://www.howtocallabroad.com/uae/
    https://www.howtocallabroad.com/qatar/

Make sure you also scroll down the aforementioned pages where we have dialing instructions for calling to a cellular in these countries.

Could be an issue on your end. Have you tried dialing this number using a different line?

It seems that you need to perform some settings on your phone to be able to send text messages. I believe calling your wireless provider to inquire about this would be best.

    Hello,

So you called your friend and you could speak with him? And now calling the same number triggers the automated message? Maybe your friend no longer uses that number?
