    Hi Andra,

You should have, as you said 00 1 followed by a 3 digit area code and 7 digit local number: 00 1 ??? ??? ????. If this is what you’ve been dialing without success there are several possible causes: either your mobile plan doesn’t include/blocks international calls or maybe you aren’t entering the right area code for NY. Here’s a website providing area code information: https://www.whitepages.com/area-codes

If you still can’t dial I can help you out by trying to dial this US number for you, just to see if it rings (this way we’ll know if the problem is on your end). If you wanna do this just send me the number you’ve been calling using the Contact button at the top right of this page.

    Hello,
To dial internationally from Sri Lanka you must use 001 and not 00:
001 94 plus the Sri Lankan mobile number.

    Hello,
I tried dialing the number too and I am getting the same “number is not valid” message. For some reason the caller ID is showing the wrong number and the only solution you have is to wait for this person to call again and answer the phone on time.

OK. First of all, we provide these starting digits for cellular numbers so our visitors can differentiate between a cell and a landline phone…but, it would make no sense for someone to provide you with an incomplete cell number. In other words, the number you have should include the first two digits (or 2 digit cell code as you call it). You have the correct number of digits (8 without the starting zero) which is how Cambodian mobile numbers are formatted. However, I am not aware of cell numbers in this country starting with 77. I’m not saying they don’t exist – sometimes newly introduced calling codes take awhile to be announced to the international public. So, if this is a Cambodian cell you would dial 00 855 77 477 ???.

There is another possibility I am seeing here: isn’t this actually a Qatar mobile phone traveling to Cambodia? If this is the case, than you don’t need to add any international calling codes to it.

I hope this helps. Let me know if you have any further questions.

If your friend has a cell phone registered in India you have to use the instructions for dialing from the UK to India, therefore you should dial 00 91 followed by the Indian cell which should have this format: 9? ???? ????.

Luxembourg has a closed national dialing format, therefore they do not use area codes. So you should dial the following: your country’s IDD or exit code (found at https://www.howtocallabroad.com/codes.html) followed by 352 which is Luxembourg’s country code and finally the phone number you have.

    Hello,
I think you’re missing a digit from this number’s country code: if you had 011 234 8082680776, the number would match the Nigerian mobile numbering format (234 is Nigeria’s country code). Try this, maybe she mistakenly gave you the incomplete country code.

    Hello,

All Qatar phone numbers are 8 digit. Landlines have this format all over the country: 44 ??? ??? while cellular numbers can start with 33, 55, 66 and 77. To dial from the Philippines you must add 00 974 to the Qatar number, just like the page below explains:

What I can do is try dialing one of these numbers to see if I can get through. Then we’ll know if the problem is on your end or theirs. To send me the phone number you can use the contact button at the top right of the screen.

    Hello,

When used abroad, a (US) cell phone works like a phone registered in the country you are in for calls made and remains a US cell for received calls. In other words, to call a London and Paris landlines while in the UK and France respectively you will dial these numbers the way locals do without adding any international calling codes. To call the US you will dial 00 1 followed by the 3 digit area code and 7 digit number.

    I hope this helps.

    Hello,

US toll free numbers don’t always work when dialed from abroad, depending on the settings used by the owner of the number. If you will be able to call this US toll free number from China, the call will not be free. This is what you should dial: 00 1 800 ??? ????.

    Hello,

You should leave out the zero in the VT phone number (0168… becomes 168…). I’m not sure why you have 11 digits (without the zero) since Vietnam cell numbers are 10 digit.

    Hi,
No, while in Rwanda you will dial local/national calls the way locals do. For example, Rwanda landline numbers have a national dialing format that looks like this: 2?? ??? ???. This is what you will dial.To dial internationally, say to the US you will enter 00 1 followed by the 10 digit US number.

    I hope this helps.

No, if you are calling a cell number you don’t need to add any geographical area codes.

    Rose,
Cellular phones in Algeria do not use area codes, just like Germany. Instead, they have a national dialing format: for example 55 ??? ????. There are several other dialing formats for cellular phone numbers (see the link below). However, if you are dialing an Algerian mobile you should already have the complete number to which you must only add 00 213.

Looks like a UK cell phone so you should actually dial 00 44 7??? ??? ???. The plus sign is used to replace the 00, but it only works when using a cell phone to dial out (or VoIP). So it’s either +44 or 0044.

    Hope this helps.

    Hello Iris.
You should replace 00 with 011 (00 is used to call internationally from Europe while the US and Canada use 011): 011 47 followed by the 8 digits. Note that this will be an international call for you.
