    Hi Julie,

Area codes and city codes are the same thing (city code=area code for a particular city).

I think your confusion comes from the city name. I looked up Schoenbrunn which seems to actually be Schönbrunn. I found at least two cities with this name in Germany: Schönbrunn b Hildburghausen (area code 36874) and just Schönbrunn (area code 6272). In any case, you shouldn’t have more than 10 digits for the phone number (including area code) and you have 12. My hunch is that you have been trying to call the Schönbrunn that has area code 6272 and mistakenly added area code 36874 of Schönbrunn b Hildburghausen to a complete number resulting in a too long inexistant German phone number. Moreover, the zero in the beginning of the Schönbrunn number (0627 etc) should be removed because it is just a code used for calls within Germany only. So I believe you should dial 011 49 627 and whatever digits you have. Again, the number you have seems complete so try to dial without adding any area codes and just removing the zero.

Let me know if this works and if not we’ll look for other solutions.

    Hello,

One thing you should know – when posting in a forum try to use a descriptive title as opposed to “hi” – I edited your title.

I suppose you live in the Philippines (checked your profile). To dial from the UK to a Philipines cell one should enter: 00 63 followed by your cell number which should start with 9 (if the cell number starts with zero drop that digit).

We provide this same info and more details on the page below:

    Hello,
Likely the call doesn’t go through. The dialing sequence looks right so I believe this is an issue with your phone service provider. Have you dialed international calls before using your current phone plan? Try calling your provider to inquire about this. My guess is that you don’t have international calling activated.

Hi Mary. The sequence looks right. What happens when you dial? I could try dialing this number for you just to test it.

Hi Joe. I’m not sure where you got the 999. Can you reply here with the entire sequence you’ve been dialing – I’ll try it to see if I get the same recording. You can edit the number later if you don’t want it published on these forums.

Generally calling internationally using a landline costs less than calling using a cellular plan. Try contacting Verizon and AT&T to find out the rates to Rwanda cellular. For comparison, we advertise a third party calling service on our website and I just checked their rates: 15 cents/min to Rwanda. You can see more info about this at the bottom of this page https://www.howtocallabroad.com/rwanda/

Unlike the US, most countries including Australia do not pay to receive calls to their cell phones. So the answer is no, they won’t pay a dime to receive your call. You however will incur international charges that are higher than those you would pay for calling an Australian landline.

It could be from the UK indeed. It looks like a regular landline so I’m pretty sure it’s not an expensive call. To dial it from the US enter: 011 44 1489 603 273.

    Hello,

86 is China’s country code while 852 is Hong Kong’s. The number you have is registered in China and probably roaming in Hong Kong so you will have to dial 011 86 135…

    David,

I believe this is an Indonesian cell and these don’t need area codes. In addition, you must drop the starting zero in the cell number: 009 62 857….

If it still doesn’t work let me know.

Hi Carl. US area code 484 is in Pennsylvania covering cities such as Allentown or Reading. Of course the cell could be used in Minnesota. One other thing – the US cell you listed above is 11 digit – either you listed 4 question signs instead of 3 by mistake or you have to many digits in your number – all US telephone numbers are 10 digit (3 digit area code + 7 digit local number).

Now, to text a US cell from Ireland you would dial 00 1 followed by the 10 digit number discussed above. If this is what you’ve been dialing and you are getting an “unable to deliver message” try calling Vodafone to make sure your service can be used for international texting.

Let me know if you have any further questions.

    Hello,

Texting this Swiss cell phone works the same way as calling it. You will have to remove the starting zero and add 011 41 (79 20? ?? ??). You can find complete info on dialing to Switzerland on this page: https://www.howtocallabroad.com/switzerland/

    Hello,

I tried dialing this number and I get a message in Arabic and English asking me try try again later. In other words, the call connects to Pakistan, but there seems to be a problem with the number you’ve been dialing.

The correct way to dial is indeed 00 92 followed by the cell number. Since the entire dialing sequence you are using looks right there might be a problem on your end. Are you getting a message or anything? What happens when you call? Do you have international calling activated on your cell?
