    Melina,

You do not add any area codes to a UK cell number. These numbers have the following format when dialed nationally: 07??? ??? ???. To dial a UK cell from outside the UK you must drop the zero and you should have: 011 44 7??? ??? ???.

    Hi Mary,

Generally these UK special numbers can not be reached from outside the country. The correct way to dial this number would be: 011 44 844 7???. Try this but again, these numbers are meant for calls from within the UK so it is unlikely that you will be able to get through. This business you are trying to reach must also have a regular contact number.

Yes, no need to add any international codes.

    Hi Ellie,

You should dial her US cell number as if she were still in the US. The US wireless provider will then redirect the call to Ireland. You will not incur any extra international charges, your daughter will.

    Hello,

You must remove the starting zero in this cell number: 00 82 1027 and so on. And by the way, I believe you’ve actually added ??? at the end of the number when we suggested replacing the last 3 digits with ??? (pls. correct me if I’m wrong).

It looks like you are dialing the right digits. There could be restrictions on placing international calls by your service provider. Try calling them to inquire about this.

    Hello D,

You are dialing the right digits (00 212 652 ??? ??? looks right). I don’t know why this call doesn’t go through. Could be that it is turned off or it is in a poorly covered area.

    Hi Leroy,

1)When your friend is in the UK you will dial internationally using 0049 1…
2)To place calls her phone must be used just like yours; in other words she would dial 07…
3)None; when you will call her you will pay international charges as if you were calling Germany (which you will because the call will be redirected from Germany back to the UK); your friend will also pay roaming charges for receiving calls; when she calls you she will pay a rate that is usually higher than what you pay for local calls (rate info will be provided to her by the German wireless carrier).

I hope this helps. Perhaps you would be both better off buying a UK prepaid sim card for her phone.

    Hello,

You dial Spain numbers the way locals do. You don’t enter any international codes. To call or text the US you must use 00 instead of 011 (00 1 ??? ??? ????). In other words, to place calls/text your phone behaves like a Spanish phone.

So you’re actually dialing his US cell by adding Germany’s country code? If so this is why you’re not getting through. If your boyfriend is in Germany with his US cell you should dial his number as if he were still in the US, nothing changes.

In order to place calls using a calling card you must dial an access phone number. Unless you have unlimited minutes on your mobile plan, calling this access number will use up your airtime. Of couse, your calling card credit will also be used. So it’s better to either use a cell with unlimited minutes or your home phone.

However, this number doesn’t look like an Afghanistan phone number.

The mistake you’re making is pretty obvious: you are dialing Pakistan’s country code (92) twice. The cell number starts with digit 3 and it whould be 10 digit.

Sure. The most popular such service that comes to mind is 1800 collect (make sure you check out the rates):
1800collect.com (as of May 5, 2023 this link redirects to a new service).

    Hello,

In order to be able to do this you must find a service that provides international collect calls. If you do find such a service you would call a toll free number and then the operator would connect you to the international location (after asking the call receiver if they agree to pay for the call).
